you know I’m not going to say every case

is complex it’s not but I would say the

better part of our litigation is complex

a lot of our cases are referred to us by

other lawyers

and their cases that the other lawyers

tried to handle and ran into roadblocks

a lot of our complex cases have huge

amounts of documents sometimes we spend

an enormous amount of money having to

put millions of documents into an

electronic database where they can be

cert word searched on the computer I

mean we handle the case against

Sandridge which was a Securities

Securities derivative case that case

went on for several years it ended up

settling I think it’s the largest

Securities derivative case in the state

of Oklahoma we represented the choctaws

and chickasaws against the federal

government because their lands were

taken and and they they were supposed to

be a trustee and treat the tribes fairly

that went right up to the courthouse

steps after a long battle that was a

very complex case we went all over the

country taking depositions and again it

had millions of documents in it that was

186 million dollar settlement the

largest of its kind I understand

we’ve done Medical Products liability

cases I used to be General I used to be

Regional counsel for Biomet which was a

company that made artificial hips and

knees and those are very complex cases

now I’m on the other side now I I handle

Medical Products cases on behalf of the

plaintiffs we just recently handled the

case involving a

diabetes insulin pump that failed and we

believe it killed our client so we get a

wide range of products that we handle

but virtually all of our cases are

complex in the sense that they have a

large number of documents they often

have a large number of complex legal

issues and that’s where it helps to have

some of these young lawyers who are

extremely gifted in legal research and

writing you can’t just know the facts

you’ve also got to know the law and then

you’ve got to be able to present it to

both the judge and the jury in a way

that they not only understand but they

approve of
